Botulinum toxin (Botox)
In our practice we use the brands Botox® and Dysport® are the trade names of a preparation composed of purified Botulinum Toxin Type A, which acts selectively on peripheral cholinergic nerve endings. When injected into a muscle, it causes a decrease in its controlled contraction. It produces its effect up to approximately 6 months, at the end of which, the initial state is recovered. It is always important to remember that toxin treatment is to smooth out skin wrinkles, not paralyze them. It is mainly used on the forehead.
Platelet Rich Plasma
This modern treatment can be applied to mature skin that show signs of aging, to young skin with acne marks or to patients with a lifestyle, which contributes to not having a healthy appearance of the skin. With the PRP we obtain a greater luminosity and coloration, achieving an increase in the smoothness of the skin.
Platelet Rich Plasma is obtained from the patient's own blood.
This treatment consists of 3 stages:
- Blood collection: Estimated time: 5-10 min.
- Spin: approximately 9-10 min.
- PRP application: By microinjections.
For this process we can use creams with anesthetics to improve any discomfort that the patient may experience when performing the treatment. The results with PRP are increased by increasing the number of sessions and a good follow-up of the patient's skin, many times this procedure is combined with other treatments such as hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin.
